Middle School Boys' Soccer, Gold Coast League Champions

The Saint Andrew’s Middle School Boys Soccer team won their second consecutive Gold Coast League Championship last week, defeating Pine Crest - Ft. Lauderdale with a score of 6-1.

The match was characterized by the Scots’ strong defense, led by Henrique Carvalho and Andrew Cabrera-Hock, which restricted the Panthers to only 2 shots. Striker Gustavo Schuch scored two goals, taking his total for the season to 19, while Jared Neustein and Jack Dutton also contributed with a goal and assist each.

The team was powered by an outstanding group of grade 8 students, including Carvalho, Cabrera-Hock, Schuch, Neustein, Daniel Sandim, Matias Pinate, Lucas Gallego, Adriano Cirillo, and Jack Sonnenstein. Goalkeeper Gallego had a remarkable record of conceding just 0.2 goals per game over his two seasons for the Scots. The midfield trio of Neustein, Sandim, and Pinate controlled the flow of every match.

This was Coach Trevor Faber’s fourth league title since taking over the program in 2014 and the Scots’ second consecutive undefeated season.
